SCOPE OF WORKS

As part of City of Canada Bay’s Traffic Package project, Convil Group has been contracted to construct a roundabout upgrade and pedestrian crossings at two locations as part of a program to increase pedestrian walkability and traffic safety across the Canada Bay area. The projects are:

  • Queen St and Wunda Road, Concord West
  • Barnstaple Road, Russell Lea
 
Queen St and Wunda Road Roundabout and Intersection Upgrade

The existing roundabout was upgraded with the installation of a new roundabout, traffic islands, fencing, kerb ramps, and other pedestrian and traffic calming devices. The scope of works include:

  • Excavation and sawcutting of existing asphalt and concrete areas required for the installation of a roundabout, median and kerb islands, and other civil components.
  • Removal and reconstruction of the existing roundabout.
  • Laying of AC24 deeplift and AC10 wearing course.
  • Construction of concrete median and kerbside islands.
  • Construction of a new concrete dish drain.
  • Construction of new concrete footpaths, kerb & gutter and kerb ramps.
  • Installation of road signs and verge RMS fence.
  • Landscaping of surrounding areas, including the installation of trip stops, topsoil, and turf.
Barnstaple Road Raised Pedestrian Crossing

A new footpath and a raised pedestrian crossing were constructed along Barnstable Road to increase the accessibility and walkability of Larkins Reserve adjoining the site. The scope of works for this project includes:

  • Excavation and sawcutting of existing asphalt.
  • Installation of electrical conduits for lighting pole.
  • Construction of a new raised pedestrian crossing.
  • Construction of new concrete kerb&gutter, footpaths and kerb ramps.
  • Construction of new landscape traffic islands.
  • Laying of new AC10 wearing course around pedestrian crossing.
  • Installation of road signs, and linemarking.
  • Various planting and landscaping works.
