SCOPE OF WORKS
Blacktown City Council engaged Convil Group to deliver approximately 2 km of shared pedestrian and cyclist pathways across Mount Druitt. The project improves active transport connectivity through the construction of new shared paths, pedestrian bridges over creek channels, and associated civil infrastructure, creating safer and more accessible links for the local community.
The works also included the construction of shared pathways and elevated boardwalks through reclaimed creek corridors and marshland surrounding Whalan Reserve, establishing a continuous recreational walking and cycling loop that integrates with the natural environment.
The scope of works include:
- Extensive site clearing, excavation and regrading works to previously overgrown reserve and creek bed areas.
- Construct 5000sqm of concrete shared paths.
- Design and construct 2 clear-span bridges across live creek channels.
- Design and construct 3 FRP boardwalks across live creek channels.
- Major landscaping and planting works.
- Installation of street furniture along the footpaths.
- Construction of a pedestrian crossing at Durham Street.
